Art Jam Workshops

Annreflection Studio hosts accessible and creative sessions in lantern-making, puppet-making, sensory storytelling, and Chinese brush painting. Each workshop invites participants into joyful, reflective making with a focus on community, identity, and expression.

Lantern Making Art Jam

BC Culture Days Version: Begin with meditative brushstrokes using Chinese ink and brush. Then create personal lanterns expressing the release of barriers. Materials include grape vines, wire, and bamboo.

Puppet Making Art Jam

BC Culture Days Version: Create sock puppets that reflect aspects of your identity. A playful, accessible experience for all ages.

Multi-sensory Storytelling Kit Making

BC Culture Days Version: Design a storytelling kit within a portable shoebox stage using props, textures, and visuals for inclusive narrative play.

Chinese Ink / Brush Painting

Workshop Length: 2.5 hours
Learn 2–3 brush painting techniques on sumi-e paper focused on gesture, flow, and meditative practice.

Shadow Play Workshop

Neighbourhood Small Grant Version: Participants experiment with light, movement, and handmade shadow props. Designed for all ages and access needs, this workshop supports intergenerational storytelling and improvisation with lantern puppets and silhouettes.

Festival & Community Arts Commissions

Annreflection Studio specializes in collaborative and site-responsive artworks including textile banners, lantern installations, and murals for public festivals and events.

Textile Banners

Vivid large-scale banners painted with acrylic-based fabric paints. Custom designs celebrate culture, seasons, and community identity.

Lantern Building & Installations

Custom lanterns made for festivals and celebrations using grape vines, bamboo, fabric, and translucent materials. Can include authentic Chinese techniques.

Murals

Collaborative mural design and accessible painting process. Available for outdoor and community sites with estimates on request.
